Guy was just pissy that he wasn't going to be paid residuals, was too outspoken about it and said that unless he got royalties/residuals he wouldn’t do it. Konami is not at fault for this, they asked him to come back. They were even willing to pay him for his services again, but he felt he was owed money for something he was already paid for, the fact that he’s talking about residuals being in videogames shows you just how out of the loop he is because residuals don’t happen.

You know why James was recast? Because Konami offered him to redo the voice, and he threw a fit about how he had only agreed to do anything for the PS2 release, and wasn't going to be paid residuals for the PS3 release and went on to bash Konami, and whine that because he helped with the character motion, and so that made it his and the reuse of said motion data should mean that he gets repaid for it.
