The Gautreaux Program resulted from the nation’s first public housing desegregation lawsuit which later became an integral part of housing policy. Catherine started her career as a Housing Counselor for the Leadership Council for Open Communities in 1991, where she had the opportunity to work with the Gautreaux Assisted Housing Program.
